The Women in Tech Employer Awards are delighted to announce our winners for 2023.

And the winner is… CGI

The judges were really impressed that CGI has hired 82 female STEM graduates over the last 18 months, and thought that their commitment to achieving their goal of a 50/50 gender split by 2025 really shone through in their entry.

And the winner is… Sparta Global

The judges said that Sparta’s Athena Academy is a great example of not only upskilling, but supporting the advancement of women. They commented that a 12% increase in female technologists is terrific.

And the winner is… Correla

The judges thought that Correla had a really strong entry, and said that it was clear that lots of strategic planning had gone into their benefits policy. One judge commented that 26 weeks paid parental leave is generous, especially for a new company, and they also loved that they offer mentoring and caregiving support.

And the winner is… M&G plc

The judges were inspired by M&G’s entry and said that they seem to have thought of everything. They were especially impressed with the support for employees going through fertility treatment, as well as their flexible approach to returning to work after leave. They said that M&G is clearly a company who cares so much about providing extensive parental support to their employees.

And the winner is… Kingfisher plc

The judges were impressed with Kingfisher’s dedication to being an inclusive employer through their various employee network groups. In particular they liked the piloted reverse mentoring, and the focus on learning more about the diversity of their employees. Overall a great entry, well done Kingfisher!

And the winner is… Stanford Black Limited

The judges found Stanford Black’s entry really impressive, especially the 94% increase in gender diverse placements in 2022, and the increase in average base salary for women. The judges particularly liked the focus on case studies, showing the success of their placements through their dedicated women in technology desk.

And the winner is… Capco

The judges thought that this was an outstanding entry with brilliant supporting documents. The campaign clearly showcased Capco’s gender diversity initiatives and their culture of recognition - the judges weren’t surprised that their female tech hiring has improved so much as a result.

And the winner is… DWP Digital

The judges were impressed with DWP Digital’s focus on showcasing female role models in tech through their dedicated stories section of their careers site. They also liked that they featured key benefits which would appeal to female candidates, and gave details on their employee networks and support groups.

Highly commended is… Dippy Sandhu from Experian

And the winner is… Eftihia Gounaris from NOKIA

The judges were hugely impressed with Effi and thought it was a brilliant entry all round. Despite only being with Nokia for seven months at the time of entry, Effi has clearly made a huge impact and her passion has led to global changes in their recruitment process. The judges all agreed that Effi was a worthy winner of this award.

And the winner is… Hatch

The judges agreed that Hatch has a proven track record of offering an innovative action-led solution to driving more women into tech careers. They were impressed with their fantastic results in their work with Capgemini, and unanimously decided that they were deserving of the prize.

And the winner is… PA Consulting

The judges were impressed with the mentorship programme due to the focus on upskilling in tech, and were particularly inspired by the glowing testimonials from both mentors and mentees. They agreed that PA Consulting are a clear winner in this category.


BEST returnship programme

And the winner is… Capco

The judges agreed that Capco’s return to work programme was impressive and although in its infancy had promising results. They especially liked that they had an external specialised return-to-work coach to provide advice, as well as a curated learning curriculum to upskill and retrain employees.

And the winner is… HM Revenue & Customs

This is the second year in a row HM Revenue & Customs have won this award, and it’s clear to see why. The judges admired their initiatives to support their female tech employees, from external mentoring to their women in tech network, they have clearly kept up the good work from last year.

Highly commended is… Rafferty Jackson from Opteran

And the winner is… Dr Shirley Cavin from Leidos UK

The judges thought Dr Shirley was a well-deserved winner of this award based on her impressive track record and credentials. They appreciated the evidence used to support the entry, and agreed that it was clear to see the impact Dr Shirley Cavin has on her peers.

And the winner is… Anna Heneghan from Understanding Recruitment

Anna really impressed the judges with her clear passion and dedication to helping raise the profile of women in tech. They admired how Anna has become an active role model to external women in tech, hosting her Diversity in AI vlogging series. A worthy winner indeed, congratulations Anna.

The judges were impressed with Unity5’s commitment to offering training to their female employees to help advance them in their careers. They were also inspired by their adapted recruitment processes which helped to eliminate unconscious bias and keep a fair interview process. A well deserved award.

Intent HQ won this very award at last year’s ceremony and the judges all agreed they were deserving of it again this year. They thought that 47% of female hires in 2022 was impressive, and they were inspired by their overall commitment to making diversity & inclusion a part of their company culture. Well done Intent HQ!

The judges were impressed with the initiatives Zaizi uses to attract new female tech talent, such as through Apprenticeships and strategic partnerships. They particularly liked that their entry included the current efforts Zaizi are making to be inclusive, plus their plans for the future.

And the winner is… Experian

The judges agreed that Experian’s entry was extremely strong. They have an impressive array of targeted methods to attract females into tech, and their retention rate is extremely high showing a dedication to reducing the gender gap in tech. A very worthy winner.
